Artist Bio:

The journey of SKECH185 in the culture of hip-hop is one of the most colorful stories to touch the genre. Born Willie McIntyre on January 10, 1985 (hence the name), he entered the rap arena, testing his own abilities at Chicago open mics and hostile freestyle cyphers.

Always an avid and exceptionally intelligent student of rap techniques and timelines, SKECH learned and developed the foundations for his own approach through an advanced method of battle rapping and song writing by the age of 16.

SKECH caught the attention of Galapagos4 at the age of 19 and embarked on a four-year stint with the infamous label. He began work on an album with G4’s own DJ Whitelightning, an instrumentally gritty and verbally abrasive effort that was terminated due to creative differences.

Now in 2011, with the release of his highly-anticipated debut album, "New Age Middle Finger", solid battle history including devastating victories at Scribble Jam, Rhyme Spitters and Grindtime, a hi-tech approach to songwriting, and an increasing buzz coming from his guest appearances and 7" with various indie labels ( Galapagos4, Fieldwerk Recordings and ReSERVED Records.)

You’ve seen him hold his own and annihilate your favorite regional and national rappers from Scribble Jam to Grind Time. You’ve witnessed him energetically move crowds alongside everyone from Typical Cats to Kool Keith. But you’ve never heard his audio collage.
